Brian Dorman anchors News On 6 at 4 p.m. on CBS and 9 p.m. on the Tulsa CW for the #1 TV station in Tulsa. Brian’s talent as an anchor/reporter was recognized with two Emmy awards in the Chicago/Midwest Emmy Awards competition. Dorman joined News On 6 as a General Assignment Reporter and 9 p.m. Anchor in January 2018.
During his time with News On 6, Brian dove into investigative and advocacy work uncovering a bed bug infestation at Eastgate Metroplex that shutdown the DMV for several days and his investigation into an apartment complex without working air conditioning lead to two families being relocated to new housing. Brian also investigated high-crime motels where he went on the front-lines to find out why crime was drawn to lower-income motels and how a community was ready to fight back in a 10-part series.
Brian also reported from the field from the steps of the Oklahoma State Capitol during the historic teacher walkout and extensively covered the historic flooding of 2019.
Before joining News On 6, Brian anchored and reported in Alpena, Michigan; Topeka, Kansas; Joplin, Missouri and most recently, South Bend, Indiana, where he worked as a primary anchor for seven years. He covered some of the biggest stories in the area, including the death of Notre Dame’s Theodore Hesburgh, the death of a doctor over the opioid crisis, a national exclusive jailhouse interview with one of the Elkhart 4 suspects and a jailhouse interview with a grandma accused of turning a blind eye to the abuse of her grandson that lead to his death.
His work has been recognized by the Kansas, Indiana and Oklahoma Broadcasters Associations. In addition to winning two Emmy's, his work also earned three Emmy nominations.
Brian was born in a suburb of Detroit, Michigan. He earned a B.A. in Communication from Oakland University in Rochester Hills, Michigan.
