Tulsa Offense Wins Spring Game, 39-32

The Golden Hurricane offense reigned supreme over the defense in the spring game.

TULSA, Oklahoma -- The Tulsa offense took the 2010 spring game 39-32 over the defense in a modified scoring system. The offense scored six touchdowns, while the defensive tallied 10 tackles for a loss, led by Odrick Ray’s three sacks for -26 yards. The defense also had five pass breakups in addition to one interception.

Starting quarterback G.J. Kinne led scoring drives on three of his six offensive possessions. He went 11-of-23 for 166 yards and two touchdowns.

"I think I made some strides," Kinne said. "I think overall I did a very good job."

Charles Clay caught four passes for 67 yards and one TD, while Damaris Johnson had two receptions for 39 yards and one TD. Alex Singleton rushed seven times for 58 yards andone touchdown, while Jamad Williams gained 47 yards andone touchdownon 11 catches.

The defense more than held its own. defensive back DeAundre Brown picked off Kinne near midfield in the first half.

Head coach Todd Graham was pleased with his team's progress during spring ball.

"We still got to continue to get better on the offensive line," Graham said. "We turned the ball over early; I didn't like that. I thought it was good. It went back-and-forth and it was good spring. We got more physical as a program."

The Golden Hurricane open the 2010 season at East Carolina on Sunday, September 5.
