RedHawks Use Late Surge in Extra-Inning Victory Over Omaha

Oklahoma City scored eight runs in the 12th inning in its win over the Royals.

OMAHA, Nebraska -- The Oklahoma City RedHawks used an eight-run 12th inning to power to a 10-2 victory over Omaha.

The game was tied 2-2 heading into the top of the 12th. Oklahoma City sent 12 batters to the plate; Gregorio Pettit reached base in two separate at-bats in the inning. He knocked in the final runs of the inning finishing 2-for-7 with two RBIs and a run scored.

The game was a pitcher’s duel until it hit extra innings.

Scott Thorman scored the first run of the game in the bottom of the fourth inning to give the Royals a 1-0 lead.

Ryan Garko hit a solo home run in the sixth to tie the game 1-1. Chad Tracy crossed the plate in the next inning to put the RedHawks on top 2-1.

Alex Gordon scored on a bases loaded walk to knot the contest at 2-2 in the bottom of the eighth.

Elizardo Ramirez (4-1) threw two shutout innings in relief to earn the win for Oklahoma City.

Gregory Holland (1-3) gets tagged with the loss after allowing seven earned runs in 1/3 innings of work.

The two teams continue their series at 7:05 p.m. Monday.
