Riding the bench is good for only one thing- at least you’ve got a great seat to see the action. But it’s no good if you want to play. OSU’s Nick Sidorakis has not only had to endure the view, he’s also had to fight back from a knee injury that slowed what had been a promising preseason.

Sometimes all it takes is even more adversity. So when the Cowboys found themselves minus point guard Ray Penn, and in need of more bodies off that bench against Kansas State, Sidorakis responded, even thrived in OSU’s toughest situation of the season.

He made smart plays, scored big points, and at the end of a career-high 26 minutes, he owned the final 15 seconds of the upset victory.

In talking with him afterward, Sidorakis didn’t totally gloss over his frustration of his situation until Saturday. But he was more satisfied than anything else after proving his worth. Look for him to play many more meaningful minutes this season.
