Arkansas River Body Identified

TULSA, OK -- The Tulsa County Sheriff's Office has identified the body found floating in the Arkansas River earlier this week.

Deputies say the man is 28-year-old Salvador Rodriquez of Tulsa.

Rodriquez's body was discovered Tuesday afternoon near 151st and Mingo.

Tulsa Police say over the weekend, police officers attempted to stop a car in the 6700 block of South Riverside Drive.  The driver of the car fled on foot and disappeared into brush by the Arkansas River.  A search was conducted along the river but the driver was never located. 

Police say during their follow up investigation it was discovered that the vehicle driven by the suspect who fled from officers was registered to Rodriquez.

The cause of the death has yet to be determined by the state Medical Examiner's Office.
