SAND SPRINGS, OK -- The future is looking a little brighter for Sand Springs children.

"This is a special day that will touch children's lives forever.  Forever it will make a difference," said Oklahoma State Superintendent of Public Instruction Sandy Garrett.

Sand Springs Public Schools and the Community Action Project are showing off their new Early Childhood Education Center at 1701 East Park Road.  Tuesday was the grand opening for the $11 million facility.

It has 20 classrooms and will serve about 350 children from infants to four year olds.

"We think that we're putting these little guys in a much better position, a much better position to be stronger citizens, stronger, stronger college students in high school students and better moms and dads before it's all said and done," said Sand Springs Assistant Superintendent Robert Franklin.

The Early Childhood Education Center was paid for with state and private money.
