OKLAHOMA CITY -- Under the cover of darkness, thousands of people made their way to downtown Oklahoma City for the 3rd Annual Ghouls Gone Wild Halloween bash.

While thousands of spectators watched the elaborate Halloween floats as they made their way down the one-mile parade route, hundreds of other opted to dress the part by dressing up as skeletons for the March of 1,000 Flaming Skeletons led by The Flaming Lips lead singer Wayne Coyne.

"Who wouldn't pass up the opportunity to dress up like a skeleton?" said Kyle McColey, parade participant.

Jason Balls, another parade participant, agreed.

"Dressed up like this, I feel liberated. I'm ready to rock out," Balls said.

Coyne organized the March of 1,000 Flaming Skeletons and said it's a great way to bring people into Oklahoma.

"People are really coming from all, you know, mostly around America, but some from around the world. I want them to see what Oklahoma City is like. I want them to enjoy themselves, and I want this to be a strange event," Coyne said.

The parade wrapped up just before 9 p.m. Saturday, but many stayed for an after party, which featured performances from Stardeath, the White Dwarfs and The Collins Kids.
