STILLWATER, OK -- Billionaire T. Boone Pickens will be holding a town hall meeting in Stillwater on Thursday to promote his plan for energy independence.

The meeting will take place in the Gallagher-Iba Arena on the campus of Oklahoma State University starting at 3:30 p.m.

Since holding town hall meetings across the United States starting in 2008, Pickens has addressed thousands of people.

Thursday's meeting is the second town hall meeting in Oklahoma. The first was in McAlester in August of last year.

Pickens says his campaign for the Pickens Plan has been successful.

The Pickens Plan calls for  developing renewable energy sources and using natural gas as a transportation fuel to help wean the U.S. from its dependency on foreign oil.
