TULSA, OK -- At least two Tulsa radio stations have begun playing Christmas music around the clock.
Christmas is almost two months away, but two FM stations in the Tulsa market are playing holiday music 24/7.
KQLL 106.1 FM is now calling itself Christmas 106 Your Holiday Music Station and KBEZ 92.9 FM says it is Tulsa's official Christmas music station.
Todd Tucker, program director for KBEZ, says that station began playing Christmas music on Halloween morning.
"Traditionally the ratings have been sky high when we play all Christmas Music so it's something we're trying," said Carly Rush, disc jockey for KBEZ.
DJ Steve Smith at KBEZ admits it was a bit weird at first but it's growing on him.
"Hey this isn't a bad message, whether it's in October April or November," Smith said.
Don Cristi, program director with Christmas 106, says the station began playing holiday music at midnight Friday night.
Both stations will be playing Christmas music through the holiday season and both stations say there is a big demand for holiday music.
In 2008, more than 400 radio stations across the U.S. played holiday music 24/7 through the Christmas holiday.
