UNDATED -- Some new testing shows the majority of booster seats on store shelves aren't doing enough to protect your child.

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety tested 60 models and only nine made the "Best Bets" list and some of them started as low as $20.

Among them are the Cosco Juvenile Pronto, the Combi Dakota Backless with clip, and the Recaro Vivo.

The main thing the Best Bets do is position the belt across the lap rather than the lower stomach.

Eleven boosters fell in the not recommended category.

Even if you have one in that category, safety experts say don't throw them out, they say any booster is better than none.
