Creek Nation Special Election Results Released

OKMULGEE, OK -- The results are in on a special Creek Nation election over the weekend. 

Creek Election Board officials say a special primary election was held Saturday for the Tulsa District A seat on the Muscogee (Creek) National Council. 

Seven candidates were on the ballot to fill a vacancy by the passing of Ronald Cleghorn. 

Creek Nation officials say a Special General Election will be held on Saturday, January 16, 2010 with a run-off between Carol McHenry-Williams and Jerry Wilson.

The unofficial results of Saturday's special primary election:

• Carolyn Burgess-Billy               23        10.04%
• E. June Mustari                        25        10.92% 
• Forbes Perkins                         30        13.10% 
• Lucy Marshall-Spaulding          27        11.79%
• Carol McHenry-Williams           71        31.00%
• Jerry Wilson                             32        13.97%
