UNDATED -- The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says troopers will be enforcing its "no tolerance" policies Thursday through Sunday for those who choose to drink and drive and for those who choose not to wear their safety belts.

In a news release from the OHP, for people who decide to celebrate the New Year by consuming alcohol, there are several transportation options available.

Getting behind the wheel is not one of those options.

"If you decide to drive hammered, we'll nail ya," said OHP Captain Chris West. "From an enforcement standpoint, we'll do everything possible to keep the roads safe this holiday weekend, but we also need the cooperation of anyone and everyone who will be out traveling over the holiday.

"Many of our secondary roads are still snow packed, and mixing alcohol with poor road conditions is just an additional cause for concern," he said.

The OHP says motorists are encouraged to contact the Oklahoma Highway Patrol by dialing *55 or 911 to report drunken or erratic driving.
