UNDATED -- Area emergency personnel were kept busy New Year's Eve as they worked several car accidents. Icy roads and driving under the influence were blamed for the accidents that left several people hospitalized.

The most serious accident took place near 76th and Memorial at about 3 a.m. Police say the driver of a pickup truck was going the wrong way when he struck a PT Cruiser head-on. Firefighters had to pull a passenger from the PT Cruiser. He was taken to the hospital in serious condition. The driver of the PT Cruiser, along with two people in the truck, also was taken to the hospital.

Another accident took place at about 11 p.m. on the Broken Arrow Expressway near Harvard. Police say a woman was headed east when she lost control and hit the wall.

Her car rolled over, and firefighters had to extricate the woman from the vehicle. She was taken to the hospital, but is expected to be OK.

One person was taken to jail after a crash near 13th and Delaware. Police say a small car struck a jeep around 2 a.m. Friday. The jeep wound up on its top. Two women inside were not hurt. The driver of the small car was arrested on suspicion of DUI.

A slick spot was to blame for a rollover at 700 South Lynn Lane. Police say two teens hit a patch of ice and lost control. Neither of them was hurt.
