TULSA, OK -- What is believed to be an accidental fire was quickly extinguished at an East Tulsa apartment complex Wednesday morning.

Shortly before Noon, firefighters were dispatched to the complex in the 4900 block of South 73rd East Avenue.

District Fire Chief Bill French says the fire in the lower part of the structure was quickly extinguished while other firefighters accessed the attic area to extinguish the fire that had extended up a wall.

The damaged apartment was unoccupied.  But two nearby apartments sustained smoke damage.

French says an investigation is pointing toward an accidental cause.  Plumbers were using a torch to repair a plumbing problem.

Tulsa Fire says no one was injured.
