'Twilight' Star Plays Concert At Tulsa's Cain's Ballroom
TULSA, OK -- A legendary Tulsa concert hall has lured one of the stars of the "Twilight" series of movies.
Jackson Rathbone is known to millions of fans around the world as the actor who plays Jasper Hale in the "Twilight" movies. But he's also working on a second career.
Rathbone will perform with his band 100 Monkeys at Cain's Ballroom Monday night. According to the band's web site, the group is one month into a 100-city tour after releasing three albums last year, including the latest, called "Grape."
On Monday afternoon, the band played a free acoustic set at the Ida Red Boutique on South Peoria for about 50 adoring fans.
Rathbone's family has deep roots in the oil industry and he got his start in acting in Midland, Texas, thanks to a youth actors program.
He spent his junior and senior years of high school at the Interlochen Arts Academy, where he met two of his band mates, Ben Graupner and Ben Johnson.
Monday night's show will feature opening-act Wighead and tickets are $19. Doors open at 7 and the show is scheduled to start at 8.
