Thousands Of Oklahomans Dealing With Power Outages

UNDATED -- As of Saturday at 9 p.m., about 108,000 Oklahoma customers of electrical utilities are still without power after a winter storm knocked down power lines across the state.

The number of customers still without power Saturday was down from a peak of 179,000 on Friday. 

Public Service Company of Oklahoma's website was reporting 40,051 customers are still without power. Of those outages, 75 are in Tulsa.

A total 7,963 OG&E customers were still without electricity Saturday evening. Less than 1,000 of those are in Green Country.

East Central Electric Cooperative in Okmulgee called in Sunday morning to report about 800 customers were still without power in the Okeemah area. The company expects power to be restored to those customers by Monday evening.

About 43,000 customers with Oklahoma's rural electric cooperatives were also in the dark.

Residents in parts of west and southwest Oklahoma have been among the hardest hit by power outages and it could be days before power is restored to these areas.
