TULSA, OK -- Two dozen puppies find freedom in Tulsa.  Officials with Tulsa's Humane Society say the were liberated from a Missouri puppy mill on Wednesday.

Rescuers arrived back in Tulsa just a couple hours ago, and unloaded the Shih-Tzus, poodles and schnauzers. The Humane Society of Tulsa wants to find them homes Green Country, but admits it will take work before they're ready to be adopted.

"Most of them have never been held before in their lives. They're very scared; they're very shaken," said Kiley Roberson of the Humane Society of Tulsa.

"They're dirty. They're matted."

Staffers will bathe the dogs, send them to veterinarians, and work to socialize them. They say some may be adoptable by Friday.

The dogs will be available for view later this week at the Humane Society of Tulsa, 61st and Sheridan.
