BERRYHILL, OK -- Tulsa and Berryhill firefighters helped rescue a seriously injured worker from a tight place at about 2 p.m. Thursday.

A 33-year-old man was injured after falling into a deep pit under a large piece of hydraulic machinery at Oklahoma Forge Inc., 5259 S. 49th West Avenue.

"EMSA medics had started patient care prior to our arrival," said Bill French, Tulsa Fire spokesperson.

"Once the machinery had been stabilized, members of the Rescue Task assisted with patient care and starting building the hoisting system to remove the patient," said Bill French.

French says the man was conscious and had severe leg trauma.

He was removed from the 10 to 12-foot pit using a hoisting system and basket.

EMSA transported him to a Tulsa hospital.  There is no word on his condition.
