North Tulsa's Crutchfield Neighborhood Getting New Bus Stop

TULSA, OK -- Waiting for the bus just got classier in North Tulsa's Crutchfield neighborhood.

The new bus stop is the winning design in a contest by the American Institute of Architects. Work has already started. 

Before now, there was just a sign at the location near King and Peoria. Now, riders will be protected from snow and rain. 

Folks say it will have a big impact on the entire neighborhood.

"Hundreds of people, we have a lot of people that ride the bus over here. School kids ride the city bus, elderly," said Paula Recess, a bus rider.

The winning design was selected because it incorporated the industrial architecture of the community and could be built on budget.
