One Month Later, Geronimo Girl And Kidnapper Still Gone

LAWTON, OK -- The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation held a news conference Thursday afternoon in Lawton concerning the search for a missing 7-year-old girl and her kidnapper. 

It has been over a month since Aja Johnson disappeared as well as the man suspected of kidnapping her, Lester Hobbs. 

"We haven't got a lead to date that indicated where they might be," said Richard Goss, special agent in charge.

Agent Goss pleaded with Hobbs to safely return Aja.

"I have a message directly for Lester Hobbs," Goss said. "The intensity of this manhunt, our search for you, will not lessen, will not end, until Aja is returned. Release Aja now."

Hobbs is known to change his appearance, agents said at the news conference, but there are two things he can be identified by. He has the word "Rose" tattooed on the back of the fingers of his right hand, and "Love" tattooed on the back of his left hand.

He is also known to raise money by shooting pool.

One U.S. Marshall compared Hobbs to a scavenging coyote, traveling at night and "hunkering down" for a short time when he felt safe.

In 33 days, the OSBI has not had a solid, positive sighting of either Hobbs or Aja but continue to pursue leads.

The OSBI says it will be discussing where the case stands right now. 

The girl and Hobbs haven't been seen since Hobbs' estranged wife, Tonya was found beaten to death in an RV in Geronimo on January 24. 

There is a $20,000 reward for information leading to Aja's return and Hobbs' arrest.
