TULSA, OK -- Several blocks of North Tulsa were in the dark Friday morning after a driver crashed into a utility pole near Pine and Utica.
Police say three women were driving down Pine at about 2:15 a.m. when they lost control of their Suburban. The SUV snapped a utility pole in two places then and flipped over, coming to rest on its roof.
Crews shut down the street because of downed power lines, working to get the power turned back on.
Public Service of Oklahoma officials say 1,187 customers were out of power from 3:05 a.m. to 3:41 a.m.
The women in the vehicle were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
