Tulsa Woman Pleads Guilty In Death Of 7-Month-Old Son

TULSA, OK -- Shemirah Mache Benson of Tulsa pleaded guilty Monday to second degree manslaughter in the death of her 7-month-old son Dan Benson on November 9, 2009.

She waived her right to a jury and non-jury trial.

Benson was sleeping with her son when her husband discovered the infant between his mother and the back of the coach. The baby was pronounced dead at a Tulsa Hospital.

The baby was the second of Benson's children to die under the same circumstances.

Benson was released from jail with an ankle monitor. Her sentencing has been set for May 10.
