TULSA, OK -- Tulsa Police officers have arrested a man they believe may have been at a middle school attempting to steal copper.

At about 1:30 a.m. Thursday, police responded to an alarm at the school and found the man on campus.

Police say several thousand dollars in damage had occurred at the school in the 2000 block of 48th Street North, recently after some thieves stole copper coils from the school's roof mounted air conditioners.

Because of that theft, police and school security were keeping a close eye on the school.

Tulsa Police say when there was alarm activation several police officers surrounded the property and the man was on the school grounds.
