Cherokee Nation Cuts Ribbon On New Tribal Museum

TAHLEQUAH, OK --  Oklahoma's oldest public building now has a new life.

The Cherokee Nation cut the ribbon on its new tribal museum in Tahlequah on Wednesday.

Its home is the old Cherokee Supreme Court building built back in 1844.

The building housed the Cherokees' judicial branch for decades, then a newspaper.

After years of being vacant, the building was renovated and is now open Tuesdays through Saturdays.
