Tulsa Police: Early Morning Chase Ends With Crash

TULSA, OK -- The driver of a car involved in an early Monday morning police chase is in a Tulsa hospital listed in critical condition, but police do not expect him to survive.

Tulsa Police say the chase began after an officer spotted a westbound car on 61st and Mingo without its headlights at 4:30 a.m.

The officer tried to stop the car, but it sped off.

The chase ended when the driver of the car lost control and crashed into a tree in the 4300 block of East 60th Place, just west of Yale.

Tulsa firefighters had to rescue the driver, who remains unidentified, from the car.
