NORMAN, Oklahoma -- The trial of a Bethany doctor accused of sexual misconduct, including rape, with his female patients will have to start all over again.

A Cleveland County judge declared a mistrial Friday in the trial of Dr. Jeffrey Porras after tempers apparently boiled over in the jury room.

Witnesses said the jury foreman left the jury room suddenly. Then another juror sent a note to the judge saying the foreman had threatened to hit her.

At that point Judge Lori Walkley declared a mistrial.

District Attorney Greg Mashburn is disappointed about the outcome, but he said plans to try Porras again.

"It's very disappointing to not have a closure or have the case come to a close," Mashburn said.

No new trial for Dr. Porras has been set yet.
