Tulsa Celebrates Zookeeper Appreciation Week

TULSA, OK -- Three cheers for Tulsa's zookeepers. For the next week, the zoo is celebrating the people who face lions, tigers and bears every day.

It's Zookeeper Appreciation Week, and you can get in on the celebration. Guests will be treated to special animal demonstrations, feedings and up-close encounters with the keepers.

"It's nice to be able to set aside some times specifically to do that cause a lot of times we're busy, we're running around, we're just trying to make sure the animals' needs are taken care of," said Kim Sevier of the Tulsa Zoo.

Zoo Appreciation Week runs through Saturday, July 26th.
