Driver Illness Blamed For Kiowa County Fatality Collision

An unnamed medical condition was the cause of a collision on a Kiowa County road that killed a Mountain Park, Oklahoma woman.

MOUNTAIN PARK, OKLAHOMA -- An unnamed medical condition was the cause of a collision on a Kiowa County road that killed a Mountain Park, Okla. woman, according to a report by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

Elana Callen, 39, was driving eastbound on County Road 1600 just east of Mountain Park at about 1:58 a.m. when her vehicle left the roadway to the right, hit a culvert and flipped it over on its top.

Callen was pinned in the vehicle for a little over two hours. She died at the scene of massive internal injuries, the report said.

The cause of the accident is listed as driver illness.
