TULSA, OKLAHOMA -- A man is in a Tulsa hospital after getting shot in the neck following an attempted carjacking in north Tulsa late Monday night.

Tulsa Police say six men walked up to a woman who was sitting in her pickup truck in the 5100 block of North Garrison and told her to get out of her truck.

She waived the gun away twice and the men eventually walked away.

That is when her boyfriend came out of a nearby house and started yelling at the men. Police say one of the men then shot the man twice.

"When he was transported to the hospital, he was transported with one round lodged in the back of his neck and one round lodged in his hand," said Tulsa Police Captain Shawn King.

Police expect the victim to recover.

After the shooting, the six men ran off. A search for the six continues.

If you know anything about the shooting, you are asked to call Crime Stoppers at 596-COPS.
