TULSA, OKLAHOMA -- The trial of John Kastner continues Thursday in Tulsa County District Court.

The former Tulsa Webster teacher is accused of killing his wife, Lori, in June 2008.

Kastner maintains his wife was shot by an intruder who was looking for his adopted daughter.

A Tulsa Police detective testified Thursday morning, there were no signs of a struggle inside the house, pointing out that shoes were sitting on top of a suitcase and items were standing on the dining room table.

Jurors also heard an interview Kastner gave a detective the day after the shooting.

Kastner shows no emotion during the interview and does not ask the detective about his wife or if they've caught the suspect.

Police say he refers to his wife as his best friend and tells the detective the family was supposed to fly to Israel the day of the shooting so she can interview for a new job.

Kastner also calls himself a "legend" and "folk hero" at Webster High School and says the principal at the school did not like him because he challenged the school to improve its academic standing and not worry about the football team.

Kastner's children are expected to testify Thursday afternoon.

News On 6 reporter Dan Bewley is at the trial, he'll have a live report in the newscasts at 5 p.m. and 6 p.m.
