TULSA, OKLAHOMA -- An Oklahoma soldier returned to the homefront Tuesday, surprising his wife and meeting his son for the first time.

Private First Class Michol Jordan, 22, has been deployed in Afghanistan since March. His wife, Amy, gave birth Monday night.

Jordan called his friend Brandon to pick him up from the airport. Brandon didn't know he wasn't supposed to tell Jordan's family so instead of Private Jordan surprising them, his family and friends surprised him.

After a quick round of hellos, hugs and tears, Jordan grabbed his bag and was off to meet someone else.

Only two people didn't know the soldier was home: his wife Amy and their newborn son, Michol Alexander Jordan, weighing seven pounds and twelve ounces.

The new mother thought The News On 6 was there to talk about the challenges of having a loved one overseas.

"It's been pretty hard, but he should be here today or in the morning, because they said. We were trying to hold off for him, but he didn't quite make it," Amy said.

And then came the moment worth waiting for.

Michol Jordan: "This is pretty cool. You look good for just having a baby."

Amy Jordan: "Thank you."

A new family.

"I've never had a feeling like this before," Michol said. "This has been better than coming back, I need to wipe my nose."

The quiet warmth of love.

"Stepping off the plane and seeing everybody. It doesn't make me want to deploy again just to come back, but if I could get that every time I walk in the house that would be cool," Michol said.

"I'm very surprised and happy that he got in today," Amy said. "I got punked."

A hero's homecoming for an American soldier, an Oklahoman and a proud father.

"I can't explain it," Michol said.

Private Jordon will be home for two weeks. He'll then go back overseas to finish his tour. He says he hopes to be home for good in December.
