TULSA, Oklahoma – The second annual Taste of North Tulsa was held Thursday night.

The cafeteria at McClain High School was transformed into a restaurant as vendors treated the community to tasty and healthy foods.

"This particular event came from the walk it out program that we do every year," said Tedra Williams. "And many of the participants wanted to know, ok, we've learned how to exercise, now how do we learn how to eat a lot healthier without just eating salads all the time."

The American Heart Association's "Healthy Soul Food Cookbook" was available at Thursday night's event.

Williams said the cookbook has over 40 recipes that are under 350 calories.
