Tulsa Habitat For Humanity 'Fair' House Becomes A Home

TULSA, Oklahoma -- Thousands of people saw a Habitat for Humanity house being built on the midway during the Tulsa State Fair. After the fair, the house was moved to its permanent location for the finishing touches.

Those are now finished, and it is ready to become a home.

News On 6 photojournalist Michael Blair was there when the keys were handed over, just in time for the holidays.

"Pretty exciting," Dena Butler, the new homeowner, said.

"The house is a little over 1,100 square feet," said Jane Dunbar, with Tulsa Habitat For Humanity.

Dunbar said Butler worked 100 hours in the Habitat Woodshop where she learned to build things.

"I'm a part of this house and I'll always be a part of this house," Butler said.
