TULSA, Oklahoma -- The City of Tulsa broke ground Thursday on a $6 million dollar soccer complex in Mohawk Park. The Mohawk Soccer Complex will be on the northwest edge of the park, at 5600 North U.S. Highway 75.

Construction is underway and the 17-field site is scheduled for completion in May of 2012. The complex will cover 320 acres. The development is funded with tax money from both the Vision 2025 fund and City of Tulsa sales tax.

Ten fields will have lights and the other seven will not, according to City staff.

Atlas General Contractors will handle the construction.
