TULSA, Oklahoma -- Tulsa Police officers were assisted by several homeless people Sunday afternoon with the arrest of a stabbing suspect.

Police say the suspect, 25-year-old Jonathan McGregor stabbed his victim in the back outside the Salvation Army shelter at 102 North Denver.

The victim told police she saw McGregor running toward her and was attempting to get away when she felt "three pains to her back."

Tulsa Police say homeless people witnessed the attack and chased McGregor down and held him down until officers arrived.

The victim was transported by EMSA to a Tulsa hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

McGregor was booked into the Tulsa County jail on a complaint of assault with a deadly weapon.
