TULSA, Oklahoma -- A Tulsa County Sheriff's Office deputy was transported to the hospital after she was injured in a crash Monday afternoon.

The crash happened in the 6600 block of North Lewis just before 5 p.m. Monday.

The Tulsa County Sheriff's Office said a citizen reported the crash over the deputy's radio.

TCSO said the deputy was driving east when her patrol car collided with a car driving the opposite direction.

"It appears the civilian was trying to make a left hand turn onto Lewis and then the two vehicles come together in some way,"  Sergeant Shannon Clark said.

The deputy was transported to the hospital with minor injuries. Her name has not been released. TCSO said the deputy was en route to a call, but was not running her lights or sirens.

The occupants of the other vehicle were not injured.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
