Sand Springs Standoff Ends Peacefully, Hostages Released

Sand Springs Police say a man involved in standoff with officers in the Rolling Oaks area Tuesday morning has surrendered.

SAND SPRINGS, Oklahoma -- Sand Springs Police say a man involved in standoff with officers in the Rolling Oaks area Tuesday morning has surrendered.

Police were called to a home in the 3500 block of South Rolling Oaks at around 3:45 a.m.

Police tell News On 6 a 24-year-old man had broken into his parent's home and held his father and mother hostage.  

Sand Springs Assistant Police Chief Mike Carter says after talking to the suspect, they secured the release of the mother and then about 8:15 a.m., they secured the release of the father.    

Shortly after 8:30 a.m. the man exited the home and surrendered to police officers. 

No one was injured.
