JENKS, Oklahoma -- A Jenks man is passing around pictures of custom-made skateboards to try and get them back. Burglars broke into his car Monday night and stole seven custom skateboards, which he says total $1,200.

Patrick Foster makes longboards as a side-job. He uses his car to deliver the boards to vendors and car burglars capitalized on one of Foster's simple mistakes.

Home video showcases some of Patrick Foster's best work: his skateboards and his skateboarding skills.

"It's just a way to create and express yourself. That's my form of art," he said.

He loves to see his longboards on the street, but not at his own expense. Foster came out to his car Tuesday morning and it was unlocked.

"Just kinda got that instant sick feeling in your stomach," he said.

When he checked his skateboard rack, all seven longboards were gone. Foster admits he forgot to lock his car, but says he always keeps boards in tow.

"I keep them in there for whenever I want to ride and I have them and then I had some in there that I was trying to sell. Just in case the opportunity arises, I can sell one," he said.

They sell for a nice profit. Four of the longboards were made under his brand "Groove Custom Longboards" and can sell for $250 each.

Three boards weren't totally outfitted, but could still sell for about $100 apiece under his other brand, Dry Walrus Longboards.

"With as many people as I know who longboard in this area, you're not going to be able to ride it without somebody noticing," Foster said. "Honestly, you're not going to be able to sell it without someone noticing."

Foster has been making longboards for about 15 years and with all the hours and effort he's put in, he just wants the boards back off the streets.

"Hopefully some parent realizes, my kid just brought home this board and I did not pay for it. So hopefully a parent will realize it, hopefully someone will see it," Channing Foster, Patrick's wife, said.

The car burglar also stole a $450 laptop from Foster's car, so it was a total loss of about $1,700.
