NORMAN, Oklahoma -- The No. 15 Oklahoma Sooners allowed only three runs Friday as they pummeled the No. 30 Kansas State Wildcats 14-3.
Right handed pitcher Zach Neal (5-1) led OU through six innings, giving up only one run and striking out two hitters to earn the win. The junior was relieved by freshman Jack Mayfield, who allowed only one hit while striking out three batters.
Jarrett Semler finished the game by pitching the final inning. He gave up one run and struck out one hitter as the Sooners improved to 31-11 on the season.
The Wildcats (29-11) struggled on the mound, with Daniel Ryan starting the game. Ryan pitched just one inning, giving up the game’s first four runs to the Sooners. OU faced seven different Kansas State pitchers throughout the game, notching scores throughout the game.
Garrett Buechele racked up five RBI, batting 5-for-6. Fellow sophomore, Caleb Bushyhead, went only 1-for-5 but earned three RBI in his lone hit.
The Sooners will continue their three-game series against the Wildcats Saturday at 5:00 p.m.
