OMAHA, Nebraska -- The Oklahoma City RedHawks fell 3-1 in the series finale against the Omaha Royals Thursday.
Scott Thorman broke a 1-1 tie in bottom of the eighth with an RBI double to give the Royals a 2-1 lead. Thorman would score a couple plays later on a sacrifice fly.
The RedHawks only run came in the top of the eighth. Esteban German drove in David Lough on a single to center field. German went 2-for-4 with an RBI and was the only Oklahoma City player with multiple hits.
The first run of the game came in the bottom of the seventh when Jai Miller crossed the plate to give Omaha a 1-0 lead.
Omar Beltre (0-2) was tagged with the loss for Oklahoma City after giving up two earned runs in 1.1 innings of relief. Starting pitcher Guillermo Moscoso gave up one earned run in 6.2 innings of work.
The RedHawks travel to Iowa to start a four-game set with the Cubs at 6:35 p.m. Friday.
