Tulsa Shock Routed By Phoenix Mercury

PHOENIX, Arizona -- The Tulsa Shock dropped its third-straight game Saturday when the Phoenix Mercury handed them a 32 point loss.

The Shock are now 3-6 on the season, struggling to find their rhythm under the fast-paced play of head coach Nolan Richardson. Despite Shanna Crossley’s 17 points, the Shock fell behind early, watching as the Mercury inched ahead 13 points by half.

Phoenix pulled way ahead in the third, when they put up 22 more points than the Shock by the end of the quarter.

The Mercury’s Candice Dupree was the game’s top scorer with 18 points. She also tallied four rebounds, three steals and one assist.

The Shock’s offense relied heavily on their bench, with two players scoring in double digits, including Amber Holt’s 13 points and Kiesha Brown’s 10 points. Tulsa’s Alexis Hornbuckle grabbed eight rebounds and finished with three assists.

The Tulsa Shock will look to snap their losing streak June 18, when they travel to Minnesota.
