STILLWATER, Oklahoma – Oklahoma State got a nice surprise from junior college transfer Darrell Williams in its 86-66 exhibition victory against OCU on Monday.

Williams scored 15 points, pulled down 15 rebounds and dished out five assists in the victory for the Cowboys.

Guard Keiton Page led OSU in scoring with 21 points and was 8-for-8 from the free-throw line.

Page and Williams, along with guards Fred Gulley and Nick Sidorakis and forward Marshall Moses started for Oklahoma State.

OSU looked sluggish in the first half, trailing 10-5 just five minutes into the game. The Cowboys went on a 12-0 run to grab a seven-point lead, but were not able to break away in the first half and led by just six points at halftime.

Oklahoma State took control in the second half thanks to several big runs and led by as many as 24 in the game.

Marshall Moses had an interesting night, fouling out in 14 minutes of playing time with two rebounds and no points.

Oklahoma City University has six players on its roster that went to high school in Oklahoma and another – center Dee Proby – with vague Oklahoma ties.

Proby, a 6-10, 270-pound post player, originally signed with Oklahoma State, but left the university when Travis Ford became the head coach.

After he was seemingly the odd man out in the new coaching staff’s roster, Proby tried his luck as West Virginia before heading to OCU.

Proby scored 15 points for the Stars against OSU on Monday.

OSU will play its final exhibition game on Friday against Campbellsville (Ky.), a school that OSU coach Travis Ford coached at early in his career.

The Cowboys expect forward Matt Pilgrim to return to practice on Wednesday and play on Friday.
