STILLWATER, Oklahoma – Oklahoma State’s Kendall Hunter and Justin Blackmon are two of the 15 Walter Camp Award Players to Watch announced Tuesday.

The Walter Camp Award is given annually to the nation’s best player, as decided by a group of Division I head coaches and Sports Information Directors. Texas’ Colt McCoy won the award each of the last two years, joining Archie Bradley and O.J. Simpson as the only player to win it twice.

Blackmon currently leads the nation in receiving yards, yards per game and touchdown receptions. He is second in the nation in receptions per game and sixth in all-purpose yards.

He has already set an OSU program record with a touchdown reception in nine consecutive games and more than 100 yards in nine straight games. His yardage total this year is No. 3 in school history and he still has at least three more games this season.

Blackmon is closing in on several records. He is five touchdowns shy of matching the Big 12 single-season record of 22 by Michael Crabtree in 2007, and 242 yards shy of tying Larry Fitzgerald’s national mark for most receiving yards by a sophomore.

Meanwhile, Hunter leads the Big 12 and is No. 4 in the nation with 135.6 rushing yards per game. His 16 rushing touchdowns are also a conference high and rank No. 2 nationally.

Hunter was a first-team All-American in 2008 when he ran for 1,555 yards and earned the Big 12 rushing title. His numbers through 10 games have him on pace to surpass that mark.

He is also among 10 national finalists for the Senior CLASS Award, which is given to a Division I senior who has notable achievements in four areas – community, classroom, character and competition.

OSUjoins Auburn as the onlyschools to have two players on this year's Walter Camp list, and only one Cowboy – Barry Sanders in 1988 – has ever won the award. That year, Sanders rushed for 2, 850 yards and 42 TDs and also won the Heisman Trophy.
