NORMAN, Okla. – The Oklahoma Sooners lost their second straight game Wednesday in a 68-52 wire-to-wire defeat at the hands of rival Texas.

The Longhorns (21-3, 9-0) stormed out of the gates and went on a 20-6 run to start the game. From that point forward, the Sooners (12-11, 4-5) never pulled within 11 points.

Per the usual, both teams got very little production from their benches. The big difference was that all five Texas starters scored in double figures.

Jordan Hamilton led the way with 20 points, nine rebounds and three 3-pointers. Gary Johnson scored 14, Dogus Balbay scored 12, and Cory Joseph and Tristan Thompson each added 11. The Longhorns’ bench players combined to play 38 minutes, but none of them scored.

Andrew Fitzgerald led OU with 16 points and Cade Davis scored 13, but they were the only Sooners to score in double digits. Tyler Neal was the only bench player to register any points, and he scored six and went 1-of-6 from the field.

The Sooners now have gone from a four-game winning streak to losing two in a row to their two biggest rivals. They will go back on the road – where they have only one win in conference play – to face Missouri in their next game at 12:30 p.m. Saturday.
