STILLWATER, Oklahoma – Oklahoma State football coach Mike Gundy introduced the newest members of the Cowboy staff in Todd Monken, Kasey Dunn and Jemal Singleton, to members of the media in Stillwater on Monday.

Monken joins OSU as the new offensive coordinator and he will also coach the quarterbacks.

Coach Dunn will coach the wide receivers while Jemal Singleton will coach running backs.

Gundy is confident in the coaches he hired and looking to improve upon the success the team had last season.

"We want them to keep most of it the same as last year, but there would have been tweaks either way based on the way we thought we could make improvements as we progress," said Gundy.

Monken was the receivers coach at OSU from 2002-2004 under head coach Les Miles and joined miles when he moved to LSU, where he was receivers coach and passing game coordinator.

"It is great being back at Oklahoma State,” said Monken. “I have said this previously that our family really enjoyed being here."

Monken moved to the NFL to coach receivers with the Jacksonville Jaguars for the last four years.

"We needed a guy that was willing to come in and run our offensive plays and our system of Oklahoma State football, and not necessarily run the system from the outside,” said Gundy. “Todd being a first-time coordinator at this level was a really good fit for us to come in and make the adjustments so that we didn't have to vary our offense very much."

"Dana Holgorsen did a great job here,” said Monken. “Anyone would be silly with all of the returning starters to not implement what they had done in the past. With that being said, we have to find a way to make it Oklahoma State's offense. "

Kasey Dunn joins the Cowboys from Southern Mississippi where he was also the receivers coach.

Prior to his move to Hattiesburg, Dunn spent two years coaching running backs in the National Football League with the Seattle Seahawks. Dunn replaces Robert Gillespie who took a similar position under former OSU offensive coordinator Dana Holgorsen at West Virginia.

When asked about the offense already in place at OSU, Dunn said they plan to keep it as consistent as they can for the players.

“It’s probably a little easier for three new coaches to adjust to something than 40 players, so I think we’re going to try and keep it as tight as we can and as close as we can to what we did last year,” said Dunn.

Coach Singleton most recently was on staff at Indiana, but before that he served as the running backs coach and run-game coordinator at his alma mater, Air Force, for eight seasons.

“This is an exciting time for me in my life and for my family,” said Singleton. “We’re glad to be a part of a program that has a tradition of winning. I’m excited to work with a great group of young men that have shown that they know how to win.”

“I haven’t had a chance to watch a whole lot of film, but when you look at numbers and you look at the two young guys we have that played a bunch last year, it’s exciting to have guys that have been in the battle, but still have a lot of time left in their career,” said Singleton.

Oklahoma State’s first test comes against Louisiana Lafayette on September 3.

“We’re going to do everything we can right now with the three new guys that are in here to get that done because there are a lot of pieces in place here for a great season and we need to make that happen,” said Dunn.
