Oklahoma Softball Shuts Out Tulsa, 9-0

NORMAN, Oklahoma -- Oklahoma’s Keilani Ricketts threw a complete game shutout, allowing just three hits and one walk, to lead her team to a 9-0 win over the Tulsa Golden Hurricane.

Ricketts stuck out 13 TU batters in her fourth-straight shutout start. Her team warmed up their bats, scoring eight of their nine runs in the second innings, leading to the run-rule finish in the fifth.

Haley Nix hit two homers in Wednesday night’s game, while teammate Chana’e Jones drove in three runs, going 2-for-3 on the night.

After posting eight runs in the bottom of the second, the Sooners tacked on one last run in the bottom of the third inning when Martinez was hit home by a Jones’ single.

Tulsa’s Lacey Middlebrooks (5-2) finished with the loss after throwing 2.0 innings, giving up four hits and five walks. She struck out two Sooners, but seven of the eight runs on the night were earned.
