NORMAN, Okla. – The No. 2 Sooners didn’t play up to their ranking in the beginning, but finally pulled through when it mattered.
Oklahoma needed a mini-comeback against Arkansas Little Rock to eventually cruise to an 11-4 victory on Friday at L. Dale Mitchell Park.
The Trojans blasted a two-run homer in the top of the second and scored another run off of a throwing error in the top of the fourth to take a 3-0 lead.
Cameron Seitzer began to chip away at the lead for OU by leading off the bottom of the fourth with a solo homer.
Seitzer came through again in the fifth, driving in Eric Ross and Cale Ellis to knot the game at 3 apiece.
From there, it was all Sooners as they scored eight runs over their final three innings to run away with the game.
Seitzer and catcher Tyler Ogle both had three RBIs for OU and nine different players picked up at least one run.
Michael Rocha (4-0) got the win for Oklahoma, striking out five and allowing three runs on three hits.
OU will take the field again on Saturday at 2 p.m. for the second game of the series against UALR.
