OKC Racks up the Stats in Win against Tacoma

OKLAHOMA CITY – A late scare in the ninth inning wasn’t enough to derail OKC’s powerful offense in a 10-5 victory on Tuesday night.

The Tacoma Rainiers loaded the bases several times in the top of the ninth, driving two runs in in the process, but couldn’t muster a big enough rally to complete the comeback.

The RedHawks started off the game strong, knocking in two in the first inning.

Tommy Manzella tripled in the bottom of the fourth to drive in another run and Jose Vallejo singled Manzella in to give his team a 4-0 lead.

OKC would score at least one run in every inning for the remainder of the game from that point.

Tacoma managed three runs combined in the fifth and sixth innings, but Manzella and Anderson Hernandez both sent home runs out of the park in the eighth to up their team’s run total to 10.

Sergio Perez picked up the win for Oklahoma City, throwing 5.1 innings and allowing nine hits. The two teams combined for 25 hits in the game.

Rainiers manager Daren Brown was ejected in the 7th inning for arguing with home plate umpire Stephen Barga.

The RedHawks are off Wednesday before hitting the road for a series at Sacramento. First pitch for Thursday’s game is set for 9:05 p.m. central time.
