Tulsa beats Rice for a third time this year and moves into the CUSA semis for the 4th year in a row...

And the countdown to the wildest game of the weekend is one.

TU will play UTEP Friday at 3 pm Okla. time. It is going to be bananas. B-A-N-A-N-A-S.

I sat courtside this afternoon watching the UTEP - Marshall game. It was crazy loud. The arena is fairly empty for the other games, but the Miners game was really packed. Nearly a sellout. Team reps say they expect fewer fans on Fri, but only because its in the middle of the day.

Rest assured that the ones that will be there, will be loud. I was really impressed with them on Thursday during a stretch to start the second half. Marshall came out hot. They hit three quick shots and cut the lead to 7. The crowd went nuts.

They were already on their feet hollering for their team, but now it was time to back the boys. The sea of orange roared to life, cheered its lungs out and effected the game. UTEP got a steal and finished with a midcourt alley oop that made it even nuttier.

UTEP won by a LOT!

Tulsa admitted after the win over Rice that it will be hard to beat the Miners bc of the crowd. Jordan Clarkson said they have to take the crowd out of it early. Justin Hurtt called it a challenge.

If they meet the challenge head on, Tulsa could be in the title game against the Memphis-ECU winner on Saturday morning.
