One-Year-Old Girl Hospitalized After Near Drowning At Tulsa Home

TULSA, Oklahoma -- A one-year-old Tulsa girl was transported to the hospital after a near drowning at a Tulsa home Thursday evening.

It happened about 8:15 p.m. at a home near Admiral and Florence.

Tulsa Police Captain Dave Roberts said the girl's mother found the one-year-old unconscious in the bathtub.

Details of the incident were not immediately known.

"I don't know if she had just left the room for a minute," Roberts said.  "I just know that the child was found in the tub."

She was taken to the hospital in critical condition, EMSA said.

Roberts said a two-year-old child was also in the home.

"Any time you're bathing an infant, you can't leave them alone even for a minute," Roberts said.  "It takes no time at all for them to slip under water."
